LIEGE AIRPORT and the businesses operating on its site are major, rapidly growing job providers.
LIEGE AIRPORT S.A.’s workforce currently comprises 147 employees and has increased by almost 19 % over the last three years. The subsidiary LIEGE AIRPORT SECURITY, created in 2008, employs an additional workforce of 36 individuals.
For the whole site, the number of directly employed personnel is currently 2,778 persons (1,630 full time and 1,148 part time), spread over 76 companies. But LIEGE AIRPORT also creates employment, and the activity on the site generates an estimated 6,667 jobs, for an overall total of approx. 9,445 direct and indirect jobs.
- In comparison with the results of studies conducted by the University of Liege (CIRIEC) in 2005, this represents an increase of 58 % over a period of three years.
- Jobs on the site are mainly created by the private sector (83 %).
- More than 30 % of businesses on the site are foreign, and of these, 17 are European and 5 have their parent company outside Europe.
- These businesses include 54 VSE (very small enterprises, less than 10 employees), 20 SME (small to medium enterprises, between 10 - 249 employees) and 2 large companies (more than 250 employees).
