LIEGE AIRPORT is the first European airport to have based its strategy primarily on FULL CARGO. This bold positioning has paid off and LIEGE AIRPORT is today internationally recognised as a specialist freight airport by all experts and operators in the field.
With an international freight volume of 518,750 tons, LIEGE AIRPORT occupied 8th place in Europe in 2008.
International freight growth reached 20.6 % in 2007, the third highest performance in the world. Freight growth at LIEGE AIRPORT has been maintained over the last 10 years and exceeds on average 13 % per year.
LIEGE AIRPORT’s second business has also enjoyed striking success. Passenger transport, which for many years focused on tourist destinations, is now opening to scheduled flights. In 2009, the airport is offering 20 destinations.
