2006 Season: Main passenger airlines

Inter Airlines
Inter Airlines carries passengers and freight to several European countries and works with the biggest travel agencies such as Thomas Cook, Tui and Neckkerman. They operate several flights per week from Liège to Bodrum and Antalya.
Thomas Cook Airlines
Thomas Cook Airlines, established in 2002, is a Belgian airline which serves some ten destinations in Europe and North Africa from Liège.
Nouvelair Tunisie
The company was established in 1989 as Liberté Tunisie. After recapitalisation in 1995, it was renamed Nouvelair Tunisie. During the summer of 2006, the company operated 5 flights per week from Liège to Djerba and Monastir.
JetairFly
JetairFly is the Belgian branch of World of TUI. In summer, the company operates flights from Liège to 11 destinations (Kos, Rhodos, Heraklion, Monastir, Djerba, Catania, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Costa del Sol, Ibiza and Mallorca).
TNT Airways
This TNT group subsidiary has been flying to 6 different destinations (in Spain, Turkey and Sicily) from Liège since spring 2006, using BAE 146 Quick Change aircraft.
Pegasus Airlines
Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish airline established in 1990. It now has 14 aircraft. It flies to 3 destinations in Turkey (Bodrum, Antalya and Izmir) from Liège, using Boeing 737-800s.
Sunexpress
Sunexpress operates flights to Turkey from about twenty major and regional European airports. The company has a weekly flight between Liège and Antalya.
Tunisair
Tunisia's national airline has been operating from Liège for many years and flies mainly to Monastir.
Volar Airlines
The company was established in 1987 as a subsidiary of LTU. It was bought out by a group of Italian and Spanish businessmen in 2001 and was renamed Volar Airlines in 2003. It operates flights between Liège and Palma.
AMC Airlines
A charter airline based in Cairo (Egypt). It operates flights between Liège and Hurghada using a Boeing 737-800.



2006: Main air cargo companies

TNT Airways

Established in 1999, TNT Airways is based in Liege and operated its first flight between Liège and Vienna in February 2000. It became a member of IATA in its own right in August of the same year.

The company, which operates under an AOC, is also involved in activities such as planning, crew training, flight dispatch and quality control. TNT has a fleet of 19 BAE 146-200 and 300QT, 6 A300-B4F and 9 B737-300SF aircraft.

CAL Cargo Air Lines

Cargo Air Lines is an air transport company established in 1976 which transports close to 100,000 tonnes per year. Flights by this Israeli company started from Liège in June 1996. Its primary route is Tel Aviv - Liège - Tel Aviv, but it also has some flights to the United States (New York).

Incoming cargo consists mainly of fresh Israeli agricultural produce, while outgoing cargo is mainly general cargo from various European countries. CAL was the first full cargo operator to set up at Liege Airport and signed a 20-year agreement with Liege Airport to make it its European business centre. The company operates one flight per day on average in the summer, with a greater number at the end of the year.

Iceland Air
The company was established in 1973 as a result of the merger of the two national Icelandic airlines of the time. A cargo department was established at this time and freight transport became a major part of the company's business. Icelandair has been operating from Liège since 1998 and operates some 10 flights per week on average to and from Keflavik.
Kalitta Air
The company was established by Mr Conrad Kalitta and began operating in November 2000 with 3 B-747 aircraft. It now has 16 of them. Kalitta Air operates a daily flight from the United States (mainly Newark) to Bahrain.
Bluebird Cargo
Bluebird Cargo was established in the year 2000 in Iceland by a group of investors with a solid background in aviation and airfreight. Bluebird only uses B737-300 Full Freighter aircraft and operates two flights per day on average out of Liège for TNT (various destinations in France, Italy and Germany).
Exin

Exin was founded in 1991 and is one of the leading private air transport companies in Poland.

Exin has operated flights for TNT for many years, and now operates ad hoc charter flights using an AN-26 based at Liège.

Beap Cargo
Beap Cargo is a Belgian company which began operating from Liège in the summer of 2006. Using a DC8, it operates ad hoc flights mainly to Tripoli, but will shortly offer other destinations in Africa.
